A nighttime landscape shot uniting the ground and the sky. The background scene features a petrochemical plant facility located in the municipality of Marechal Deodoro, Alagoas – Brazil.
To achieve this “giant moon” effect over the plant’s structure, I positioned myself 10.7 km away. The perspective compression caused by the long distance and the use of a telescope creates the impression that our satellite is right there, embracing the industrial silhouette. The reddish hue comes from the atmosphere at the horizon, filtering the moonlight as the moon set.
